  •  South Africa's First Innings: Chasing Australia's total, African batting line-up faltered. They were all out for 138. Pat Cummins took 6 wickets giving just 28 runs and completed his 300 TEST Wickets. The only man who played a descent knock from Africa's batting line up was David Bedingham, who scored 45 runs in 111 balls.

  • Australia's second innings : The second innings for Australia was a bit challenging , as their whole batting line collapsed. Aussies were 73/7 where Mitchell Starc came out of the syllabus and scored a brilliant 58 runs in 136 balls which included 5 boundaries and Alex Carry too helped Aussies scoreboard by scoring 43 runs in 50 balls, hitting 5 boundaries. Kagiso Rabada took 4 wickets while Lungi Ngidi took 3 wickets which helped South Africa stop Aussies go past 300.

  • South Africa's second innings : Chasing 282 runs , South Africa began their innings with determination. Aiden Markram played a pivotal role, scoring a brilliant century, his eighth in test cricket and guiding the team towards their target. Captain Temba Bavuma played a magnificient knock of 66 runs in 134 balls despite having a hamstring injury , that brilliant partnership from Temba Bavuma and Aiden Markram helped them to touch the MACE.

SOUTH AFRICA finally lifted THE ICC WORLD TEST CHAMPIONSHIP MACE 2025.
Captain Temba Bavuma and the whole AFRICAN team gets their hand on the beautiful Test Mace for the very first time. South Africa creates history by lifting an ICC TROPHY after 27 years, they had won an ICC TROPHY way back in 1998 in the inaugural edition of CHAMPIONS TROPHY. 
A brilliant partnership from TEMBA BAVUMA and AIDEN MARKRAM helped SOUTH AFRICA lift the ICC TEST MACE.

Both the teams fought really hard for the TEST MACE, each and every individual from respective teams gave their whole and soul for this championship, but at the last SOUTH AFRICAN team and their players won the MACE.

South Africa's triumph in the 2025 WTC final isn't just another win - it's a narrative - defining moment. After the decades of near misses, the Proteas displayed endurance, character, and mature leadership under pressure.
